As a Friend

[This post is part of a 40-day season of prayer and fasting called “Rend 960” at my church.]

Exodus 33:11.. the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend

John 15:15  No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for  all that I have heard from my Father  I have made known to you.

2 Corinthians 3: 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where  the Spirit of the Lord is, there is  freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face,  beholding  the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image  from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Ever been in a situation where the “business” was done, and there wasn’t much else to talk about? Uncomfortable silence ensues. That is, unless you’re sitting with a friend. With a friend, when you get the “stuff” out of the way, you finally have freedom to just “let your hair down”, and share what’s going on in your heart. It’s a glorious, wonderful, freeing thing, isn’t it?
Well, as we’ve completed one week on our REND season, you’ve made your requests and come before the Lord daily, I hope! But, you may or may not yet be seeing breakthroughs (things ARE happening, whether you see them or not!). I want to encourage you today, to make your intercessions, yes, but after you’ve done that, to simply talk to Jesus as a friend. Tell Him what’s on your mind and heart. And, let Him share His mind and heart with YOU! Linger there as long as you can. The intimacy and fellowship of that place is the truest and richest reward of prayer and fasting!
